Volunteer Spotlight

July is here and big things are happening at the PR Food Center. We are continuing to work on the building and getting one step closer to seeing the vision we have for this organization become a reality. And, as with any non-profit organizations, we can't do it alone. It takes a community and individuals willing to give their time, their talents, and their donation dollars to keep us moving forward.

Our July crew: Lilly, Jasper, Aine, Aidan, Tae, Sean, Kelly, Kerstie, and June. Not pictured: Joel and Evelyn

Today, we want to thank the crew that came in this week to paint, demolish, and do dump runs for 2 days. It was hot, sweaty, tireless work but these teens and individuals from Living Innovations managed to bring it in a big way! Not only did they exceed our expectations, they were smiling, laughing, and dancing while they worked.

The "blue room" will be the new home of the Dover Foxcroft Area Food Cupboard beginning in August. Aine, Lilly, and Tae did a fantastic job priming and painting the space, as well as keeping us entertained with the wonderful music they were blasting. Shawn, Evelyn, and Kelly worked tirelessly to prime the new handicap accessible entrance to our building. And then there were the "tough guys", Jasper, Aidan, and Joel, who got the chance to use tools and break a lot of stuff and get another area cleaned out.

More updates on our transformation will be coming so keep watching our blog and facebook page! Would you like to learn more about becoming a volunteer? Send us an email info@prfoodcenter.org; Facebook message @PRFood Center; or pick up the phone and have a conversation with us! (207) 802-8230

With Friendship,
